Sports Backers, a nationally acclaimed non-profit sports commission, seeks a full time Major Gifts Officer. This individual will take the lead on coordinating the full development cycle including identifying, communicating, cultivating, soliciting and stewardship of major individual and corporate gifts to the organization. Responsibilities will include prospecting new donors, coordinating the solicitation of major gifts and appropriately providing stewardship of major gifts. The candidate will create personal contact plans that take into account the individual donor’s interests, motivations, giving patterns, and giving preferences. In addition, the Major Gifts Officer will assist with special events including the Scholar-Athlete Awards Dinner, cultivation events, kick-off events for campaigns, and other Sports Backers events and programs as needed. The Major Gifts Officer’s role will require coordination with other development, sponsorship and program staff at Sports Backers.

- Superb communication skills, both written and oral
- Highly organized
- Bachelor’s Degree
