Run Clubs in Full Swing as Kids Run RVA Gears Up for Whole Foods Market Marathon Jr.

Long, lazy summer days have given way to crisper evenings and falling leaves—always a sure sign that autumn is here. What else lets you know? Area kids have returned to school, and just like that, they are lacing up their shoes for fall run clubs.
Did you know that during the 2016-17 school year, Kids Run RVA supported 69 run clubs all across the Richmond metro region? And, we are gearing
up for more this fall! New clubs include Riverside School in Bon Air, Salem Church Elementary School in Chesterfield, and Laurel Meadow Elementary School in Hanover.
It is at this time of year that the Kids Run RVA team counts our blessings and is reminded that our run clubs would not have the impact they do on the lives of youngsters without our army of volunteer coaches. They are scattered across all corners of the metro Richmond region, and they share a commitment to inspire the next generation. Our coaches are the backbone of all of our efforts, and we are grateful every day for their time and energy.

Want something to smile about as the days get colder and shorter? Come join us on Saturday, October 28th for the Whole Food Market Marathon Jr.
at Byrd Park! The sight of over 1,000 giddy, squealing schoolchildren joyfully running among teammates and other run clubs will surely brighten your day! For the 2016 event, Kids Run RVA supported 758 youth in participating by providing complimentary entries and team t-shirts, as well as covering the cost of race-day bus transportation. We want to bring even more this year!
