Sports Backers Now Accepting Applications for Active RVA Certification

RICHMOND, VA – Sports Backers and Active RVA are now accepting applications for the Active RVA Certification and Awards program. The program recognizes the Richmond region’s exceptional employers, schools, and early childhood education providers that are implementing innovative programs to promote physical activity. All certified organizations will be honored at the Active RVA Awards presented by Cigna on March 7, 2019, at the Virginia Museum of History and Culture

Since the creation of the Active RVA Awards program in 2013, hundreds of companies and schools have embraced physical activity and received Active RVA Certification. The benefits of active school communities and active workplaces are felt by organizations across the Richmond region on a daily basis, and now is the perfect time to get involved in the Active RVA initiative.

Active RVA Awards presented by Cigna Set for March 7

All certified organizations will be recognized at the 2019 Active RVA Awards presented by Cigna, held on Thursday, March 7, at the Virginia Museum of History and Culture. The awards are taking part in conjunction with the Movement Makers Active Living Summit, a day-long summit bringing together individuals and organizations that are part of the active living movement to share best practices on making physical activity a priority in communities.
