Over 200 Teams, 5,500 Participants Take Part in Anthem Corporate Run
RICHMOND, VA – 211 teams representing companies from across the region came out to Innsbrook Office Park on June 8 to compete in Richmond’s eighth-annual Anthem Corporate Run. Awards were presented to the fastest male and female CEO, fastest overall male and female winners, as well as the fastest companies in each division.
In the CEO Challenge, Jeff Strojny of New Balance Richmond took the title in the Fastest Male CEO category, and Sarah Sheppard of the University of Richmond took the title in the Fastest Female CEO category. The overall male winner was George Tolton from New Balance Richmond in a time of 16:12, and the overall female winner was Keira D’Amato from Mapcom Systems in a time of 17:22.
Over 5,550 participants took part in the event, demonstrating the importance of workplace wellness initiatives, team building programs, and business-to-business networking opportunities to companies of all sizes in the Richmond area.
Greater Richmond Fit4Kids was the official charity of the Anthem Corporate Run. Fit4Kids is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving children’s health and reducing the prevalence of childhood obesity in the Richmond region and offers innovative programs that promote physical activity and healthy eating in schools, community organizations, and beyond. During the Post-Race Office Party, Fit4Kids hosted a dunk tank for CEOs and other participants to take part in, with additional proceeds going to the organization.
