Applications due August 21 for the Bike Walk RVA Academy: Chesterfield
Chesterfield County is a great place–a great place to live, a great place to work, and a great place to play. In a county that has so much to offer, Chesterfield is severely lacking in one category – comfortable, connected places to bike and walk.
We want to change that, and we need your help.
We have a vision of a Chesterfield County where it’s safe for people of all ages and abilities to get around by walking or biking – families enjoying a leisurely weekend ride on a paved trail, employees commuting safely with the help of a protected bike lane, people on foot making it safely to and from their destinations on sidewalks connected by signalized crosswalks, and the list goes on.
In order to see this vision become a reality, and to ensure that projects like the Bikeways and Trails Plan are implemented in a timely fashion and in a way that serves people of all ages and abilities, we need to form a cohesive team of effective advocates. Apply for the Bike Walk RVA Academy: Chesterfield, and be a part of that team.
The Bike Walk RVA Academy: Chesterfield is a program of the Sports Backers designed to develop passionate advocates into effective, on-the-ground leaders in the movement for safer walking and biking infrastructure.
Over the course of 8 weeks, we will empower you with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to effectively advocate for new and high-impact bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure projects in your neighborhood – projects that allow everybody to get where they need to go on foot or by bike.
I’ve only been a part of the Bike Walk RVA team for a few months, but in that short time I’ve met some amazing, driven people in Chesterfield County who want to see more comfortable, connected places to bike, walk, and run in their neighborhoods. We want to work with you, and together I know we’ll accomplish some great things.
Join us, and let’s get to work.
