The Fall Line recently celebrated an additional $32 million for segments in Richmond and Petersburg, bringing the total construction pot to $252 million. VDOT has started to establish its State Office of Trails and is working on Virginia’s first State Trails Plan. Now is your opportunity to contribute to that statewide vision for trails and:
Support the development of trails in Virginia
Without your voice, the momentum for building trails could lose steam.
Name the Fall Line as a priority project
The Fall Line, with an estimated 375,000 residents living within 2 miles of the alignment, is not yet considered a priority by the state trails legislation. Add your emphasis to this signature and high-impact Virginia trail.
Elaborate on the importance of trails for transportation
When trails are built for transportation, they are still excellent amenities for recreation. If a trail is built primarily for recreation, it will have limited use for transportation. Help ensure our state administrators understand the importance of providing transportation choices that benefit the economy, our wellness, and Virginia’s competitiveness nationally.
You’ve got until October 22, but the sooner the better!
