Virginia Credit Union River City Half Course
Participants in the Virginia Credit Union River City Half will set out on course* on the Westhampton Green along Keller Rd on the University of Richmond. Participants will pass through the beautiful campus, run over the Huguenot Bridge and alongside the James River, passing through outdoor gems like Riverside Meadows and Pony Pasture before making their way to Forest Hill Avenue. From there, runners will be challenged to make a steep climb in the Westover Hills neighborhood, but the views of the iconic “Million Dollar View” bridge promise to be worth the effort! Participants will then head left on the Nickel bridge to cross the James River once more before running past the historic Carillon, through the well-established neighborhoods of Windsor Farms and along River Road, before finishing back on the Top Ranked “Most Beautiful Campus” of the University of Richmond.

Virginia Credit Union River City Half Course Cutoffs
The Virginia Credit Union River City Half has a course limit of 3.5 hours. Half marathon participants must pass the following course cutoffs in order to be allowed to continue on the route:
Water stop at Mile 6.5
9:50 AM
Water stop at Mile 10
10:45 AM
We want to encourage all seasoned and first time participants to take part in the Virginia Credit Union River City Half. However, these cutoffs will be strictly enforced as portions of the half marathon course are unsafe to run on without road closures. If you are unable to make the course cutoffs, you will be unable to continue on the course and there will be a SAG vehicle that will take you back to the finish festival.

River City 5k Course
The beautiful 5k course* will begin on the Westhampton Green along Keller Rd on the University of Richmond and will lead participants through campus and along River Road before running out and back on the Huguenot Bridge. After soaking in spectacular river views, participants will return toward campus along the Gambles Mill Corridor and finish near Westhampton Lake.

Virginia Credit Union River City 5k Course Cutoff
The Virginia Credit Union River City 5k has a course limit of 1.5 hours. Participants of the Virginia Credit Union River City 5k must pass the following course cutoff in order to be allowed to continue on the route:

There is ample free parking available on the campus of University of Richmond. You need to decide whether you prefer to park near the start line or finish festival area—they are about 1/2 mile apart.

Post Race Festival
After crossing the finish line, all race participants will be greeted by DJ CJ, complimentary food and beverages, sponsors and vendors, photo opps, and more. Friends and family are welcome to join you! Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
