Every participant gets a technical shirt, finisher medal, bib with chip timing, and access to the Post Race Festival with two drink tickets. Half marathon runners also receive a branded canvas tote!

Richmond is gorgeous and this race shows it off like never before! The half and 5k courses are rich in architecture, lush foliage, river views, outdoor gems like Pony Pasture, and more!

The Virginia Credit Union River City Half is limited to the first 2,500 registrants. The River City 5k is limited to the first 1,000 registrants. If an event reaches capacity, waitlist entries will be sold at the highest price shown.

Need help training?
We partner with the Richmond Road Runner’s Club on their Winter Half Marathon Training Team as the official training solution for the half. Registration is currently closed and will reopen for the 2026 event.

What’s the parking situation?

Are there Course Time Limits
The Virginia Credit Union River City Half has a 3.5 hour time limit. The River City 5k has a 1.5 hour time limit.
