How do I create a team?
You can create and set up a team through the registration page. You can decide whether to cover the full registration fee, a portion of it, or have employees pay their own entry.

How Much Does the Markel Corporate Run cost?
Through April 30: $35
May 1 – May 31: $45
June 1 – June 5: $55

What are the age requirements for the Markel coRporate Run?
To participant in the Markel Corporate Run, you must be at least 8 years old. Children under that age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
Can i Make Changes to my REgistration?
Yes! In order to make changes to your registration, please follow these directions. Email [email protected] with any questions.
What are the cancellation or deferral policies?

Do you offer a virtual event?
Yes! It’s important to show up for your team and spend time with your coworkers (even if it’s virtual)! Run or walk a 5k between Friday, June 1 and Sunday, June 30. Don’t forget to record and submit your time! Virtual participants will be mailed their packets the week of June 9 and will be scored separately from in-person participants.
What are team Starter Packages?
Team Captains, we’ve got you covered! Our Team Starter Packs make organizing easy by bundling your team entries and team tent, with a Sports Backers staff member handling your team setup. Just focus on rallying your crew—we’ll take care of the setup!

Course and Event Day
Can I use a stroller or wear a baby carrier?
No, strollers and baby carriers are not permitted on course for the 5k portion of the event.
Where Can I park on Event Day?
There is ample free parking available in Innsbrook Office Park, although it never hurts to carpool!
How Does the Team Scoring work?
A company must have a minimum of four full time employees and a CEO to submit a scorecard. Scorecards can be entered in the following categories to be eligible for scoring:
- Men’s Team – 4 men
- Women’s Team – 4 women
- Mixed Team – 2 men and 2 women

Where does the markel Corporate run take place?
The Markel Corporate Run takes place in Innsbrook Office Park on the campus of Dominion, located at 5000 Dominion Blvd. Glen Allen, VA 23060.
Can I consume alcohol before the event?
We’re so glad you asked! You are not allowed to consume alcohol before the event.
