Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a shorter route? Yes!
The main route for the Anthem Moonlight Ride is about 17 miles long. A reasonably healthy person, cycling slowly and taking frequent breaks, should be able to complete the route in about 2 hours. In addition, the route is relatively flat and easy. In addition, there is a shorter route, clearly marked, that is 8 miles long. If you cannot complete the ride, you can put your bicycle in one of the SAG (Support and Gear) vehicles, and then board a van for a ride back to the start point downtown. Simply go to an intersection with volunteers. Because the SAG vehicles must move slowly through the crowd of riders, you may need to be patient.

Where are the restrooms?
You will find restrooms at the start at Sports Backers Stadium and at the two aid stations along the course.

Where is First Aid?
You can find a First Aid station near the starting point. On the route, simply go to an intersection and find one of the volunteers with a cell phone who can call for emergency medical service. First Aid is also available at the Water Stop midway through the ride.

Where can I get water?
You can fill up your water bottles at the water station near the starting point, midway through the ride, or with vendors.

Can you help me fix my bicycle?
Local bicycle shops will be offering repairs at their usual shop prices at booths near the starting point. If your bicycle breaks down while on the route, you can catch a ride on the SAG van.

Is the ride safe?
The Anthem Moonlight Ride is very safe. You will find police officers who will be riding and patrolling the route. In addition, volunteers with are stationed at many corners along the route.

Are children permitted?
Yes, children as young as 8 years old may register and ride with parent/guardian supervision. Training wheels and tri-cycles will not be permitted. Also, approved bike trailers (nothing homemade or rigged together) are allowed. Children not riding their own bike do not need to pay to participate, but parents will be required to sign a waiver for them at packet pickup.
