2010 Sports Backers U16 & U19 Indoor Field Hockey Qualifier

Indoor
field hockey is coming back to Richmond when the Sports Backers
host a U16 & U19 Indoor Field Hockey Qualifier at the Greater
Richmond Convention Center December 12-13, 2009. This event will
qualify U16 and U19 teams for the National Indoor Field Hockey
Tournament Championships in March of 2010.
The Sports Backers qualifying tournament will feature 48 teams from throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond. Teams from Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland and Kentucky will compete in this two-day event. The tournament will be played in the Greater Richmond Convention Center in Exhibit Halls C&D and will utilize four courts of Sport Court flooring and related equipment that the Sports Backers purchased as a part of the indoor tournament center.

| Dates: | Competition will take place on Saturday, December 12 and Sunday, December 13, 2009. Both age groups will play on both days. |
| Team Check-In: | Team check-in will take place at the Greater Richmond Convention Center on Saturday, December 12 from 7:00am to noon for U16 teams and from 11:00am to 2:30pm for U19 teams. |
| Parking: | Parking will be available
in the Convention Center Parking Deck on 3rd and Marshall
Street at 301 North 3rd Street. Parking fee is $6/per entry. Parking will also be available in the 5th St. and Marshall Street (located directly behind the Richmond Marriott). A covered pedestrian bridge connects this parking garage to the Convention Center. The cost is $3 per hour per car, with a $12 maximum per day. Street parking will also be available. |

Convention Center I-95 North Bound: Exit #74C Medical College of Virginia stay to the left and take Broad Street, State Capitol, Coliseum Exit. Go West on Broad Street to North 3rd Street. Turn right onto 3rd Street, travel 1/4 of a block, turn right into the Greater Richmond Convention Center's Parking Deck. The main entrance to the Convention Center is located at 3rd and Marshall Street. I-95 South Bound: Exit I-95 to the I-64 East/Third Street Exit #75. Bear right for 3rd Street (do not go straight on the junction, it will take you to I-64 East). Travel ahead to 3rd and Marshall Streets. The Greater Richmond Center Parking Deck will be on the left. The main entrance to the Convention Center is located at 3rd and Marshall Street. I-64 West Bound (from Airport): Exit #190 Fifth Street exit. Proceed to Fifth and Broad Streets. Turn right onto Broad Street (next to the Greater Richmond Convention Center's Ballroom) and proceed to Third Street. Turn right onto Third Street, travel 1/4 of a block and turn right into the Greater Richmond Convention Center's Parking Deck. The main entrance to the Convention Center is located at 3rd and Marshall Street. I-64 East Bound: Take I-64 East and it will join to I-95 South. Exit I-95 South to the I-64 East/Third Street Exit #75. Bear right for 3rd Street (do not go straight on the junction, it will take you to I-64 East). Travel ahead to 3rd and Marshall Streets. The Greater Richmond Center Parking Deck will be on the left. The main entrance to the Convention Center is located at 3rd and Marshall Street. |
