U.S. Army 3 on 3 Summer Hoops

The U.S. Army 3 on 3 Summer Hoops provides a playground not only for the die-hard basketball player, but also the weekend warrior. Basketball is the main attraction, but the interactive area, music, food, and a festival set up adds to the enjoyment for participants and spectators alike. Special contest and arena courts add to the atmosphere created around the tournament.

Once registered, every participant must bring a signed waiver form with them to the event.

Date: Saturday and Sunday, July 26-27, 2008
  Competition will start at 8 a.m. each day
   
Location: The campus of Dominion in the Innsbrook office park (5000 Dominion Blvd, Glen Allen, VA 23060) will be transformed into a basketball festival, where participants compete to be the champions of their court and spectators can join in the fun with loud cheers and other activities throughout the weekend. Tournament Format:

Team will be assigned to one court for the entire weekend, with the goal to be champion of their court. The tournament is double elimination, with a consolation bracket for teams that lose their first 2 games, guaranteeing each team at least 3 games throughout the weekend.

Teams will be bracketed to a court base on the information provided on their completed team entry form. The goal of the tournament is to have team of similar age, height, playing experience and desired competition level playing each other on a single court.
   
Divisions:
1. Standard
There are three categories within the Standard Division:

Youth
High School
Adult

Grades 3-8
Grades 9-12
18 & Up
2. Elite  

***Most participants will be in the standard division***

Other Activities

Arena Court
The Arena Court will be buzzing with activity throughout the weekend. With bleacher seating around the court, you will want to hang out here in between your team’s games. You'll see top-level play from talented teams in the Elite Division as well as highflying action in the slam-dunk competition.

CarMax Contest Court
The CarMax Contest Court will be a must-do for participants and spectators alike. There will be contests running throughout the day, offering everyone a chance to win cool prizes. Whether you are shooting free throws, stepping behind the arc for a three, or trying our skills competition, the CarMax Contest Court offers fun for everyone

Bon Secours Richmond Health System
Bon Secours Richmond Health System will be providing medical coverage throughout the weekend.
   
Spectator Admission: Admission to all the Tournament games is free.
